Young People’s Ministries

Youth Group and leaders help at Abraham’s Tent Shelter in January 2024

In 2023 we began something new: a weekly youth group meeting with a monthly outreach or fellowship opportunity! Starting in sixth grade, youth are invited to join the St. John’s Youth Group. During the school year. We will meet weekly! Young people today are incredibly busy with school and extracurricular activities. Youth Group offers kids a unique, safe space where they are not being evaluated or judged. They learn how to form a faith community with their peers and how to live faithfully outside the boundaries of Sunday morning worship.

Sunday School

Church School is held on Sunday mornings during the 9:00am service, starting on September 24th. During their Sunday School classes, the children will be introduced to Bible stories—through crafts and other activities designed to share our Prayers and Praises. We will be using the curriculum Lesson Plans That Work, which is designed to follow the Revised Common Lectionary and published by The Episcopal Church. Children join their parents in the sanctuary during the prior to the Communion portion of the service.
