 On Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Rt. Rev. Laura J. Ahrens will speak on the changing role of women in the Episcopal Church. Bishop Ahrens was consecrated on June 30, 2007 as bishop suffragan of the Diocese of Connecticut. Her areas of ministry include: Deacons, ecumenical ministries, college ministries, anti-racism, aging, urban ministry, prison ministry, and chaplaincies.
This celebration day will also feature displays showcasing the many ministries of the women of St. John’s. Buffet lunch will be served complete with beverages and dessert. The luncheon will be prepared by “A Perfect Thyme” gourmet caterers. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Parish office or at John Henry’s Copy and Printing Center. |
